Women’s Health Spotlight: Alex Bushman on Slowing Down, Setting Boundaries & Embracing Duality

Welcome back to our Women’s Health Spotlight series—a celebration of our partner's voices. These women remind us that wellness isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach. Their stories continue to show us that true health isn’t about perfection, but about showing up and practicing what feels right for you

In this spotlight, we’re so excited to introduce you to Alex Bushman, NYC-based founder of Influence Social Responsibility, newly engaged (congrats!), and proud kitten mom of two. Alex’s approach to wellness is rooted in intentionality—choosing slow movement, creating mental space, and honoring all parts of the journey. Her story is a powerful reminder that health evolves as we do.

Where you are in your life at this moment, what does being healthy mean to you?
I feel like I am at an exciting point in my life right now. I just got engaged, some wedding planning and I launched my business officially in January- and just got two kittens! Right now, mental health and wellness is a super big priority to me as I kind of let it go to the wayside.

In terms of your fitness routine/focus, what is your top priority?
At this point, being healthy is both mental and physical. Low impact workouts that remind me to slow my body down and mentally setting boundaries. It's ok saying no to things and moving really intentionally.

What is something you wish you learned about women’s health earlier?
Something I wish I learned more about women’s health growing up as an athlete, I felt like once I was done playing soccer (played my whole life and in college) it was hard to find what worked for me. What I wish I knew sooner is working out comes in many different forms and has so many different and diverse benefits for your body (mentally, physically, etc) and there is so much more to it than just how you look, and it’s about how you feel.

Who is a woman that inspires you to move your body?
Women that inspire me to move my body are definitely the US Women’s National Soccer Team, Soccer Players and Suni Lee (Gymnist) are top favs for inspo.

What helps you feel confident on tough days?
Giving myself grace and letting myself experience the duality of things, being honest where I am at an honoring those feelings reminds me of how truly confident I can be in who I am.

Thank you, Alex, for reminding us that movement can be gentle, strength can be quiet, and confidence comes from within.

Here’s to choosing what feels good for your body, mind, and any season of your life. 💫
